Les services de MSN Maghreb seront offerts en langue française à destination des utilisateurs du Maroc, de Tunisie et d'Algérie. D'ores et déjà Windows Live messenger compte quelque 3,6 millions d'usagers au Maroc et un total de 5 millions à l'échelle de ces trois pays du Maghreb.
La particularité de ce portail est de permettre au public maghrébin l'accès instantané à des informations internationales et régionales de dernière minute sur l'actualité du spectacle, du sport et de la consommation.
Par la suite, MSN Maghreb permettra aux visiteurs d'avoir accès aux services Windows live messenger, Windows live hotmail ou encore Windows live spaces.
Pour le PDG de Microsoft, le Maghreb est un marché très porteur grâce à sa population, l'une des plus jeunes au monde et pour laquelle les services en ligne deviennent un élément central de la vie quotidienne.

Par conséquent, ce marché est mûr pour l'arrivée du portail MSN Maghreb, qui devrait s'imposer aujourd'hui dans la vie quotidienne, personnelle, professionnelle et sociale des jeunes consommateurs de la région".
